Holy crap....how good was the music in the 80s?  I'm not talking about that Wham, Culture Club, Milli Vanilli crap.
I'm talking about the English Beat, the Clash, Elvis Costello, Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Violent Femmes, the Smiths, The Cure.  That was music.

Shake It Up Baby

Some of the beads are sterling silver, others are silver plated.  Interesting story, I went to a bead show and found a silver stand..sold by the gram.  So I had a very small handful of silver beads...$93.  Um, let me think...No.  The result...a dozen sterling silver tube beads and a bunch of silver plated ones.

Def Con One

"Big Mac, fries to go
Give me Big Mac, fries to go
Give me Big Mac, give me fries to go"

If you got that reference, you're my new best friend.  I'll give you a hint...it's a song.

Bohemian Rhapsody

I see a little silhouette-o of a man
Scaramouche, scaramouche
Will you do the Fandango?

Very very frightening me

Mondegreen
j159.jpg
A Mondegreen is the mishearing (usually accidental) of a phrase, such that it acquires a new meaning.  This site lists some at the bottom of the page....and most of them are ridiculous, and I don't believe that they would be that mangled in translation.

Kung Fu Fighting
j192.jpg
Everybody was Kung Fu fighting,
those kicks  were fast as lightning,
In fact it was a little bit frightening,
but they fought with expert timing
It's an ancient Chinese art,
and everybody knew their part

Contest
j198.jpg
I don't trust contests.  I sign up for contests, trying to win things, but if I get a call saying that I've one, I think there's some kind of catch.  And I'm usually not wrong.  The last time I entered a contest, they said I won, but I could only claim my prize if I sit through a sales pitch.  See...a catch.

Impatience
j200.jpg
I'm not the most patient person in the world, not by a long shot.  And as some of you know (by reading earlier jewelry pieces), I'm in the process of updating and recreating the entire site.  Well, last night it took almost 40 seconds to bring up one of the pages, so I quit for the night.  I can't wait 40 whole seconds. And only 15 years ago I was still on dial up.

Tainted Love
j201.jpg
It was someone I work with that came up with the idea for these glasses holding necklaces.  I can't take credit for something I didn't think up.  But considering the fact that I wear glasses, it's disappointing I didn't come up with this idea myself.
For shame.

Been Caught Stealing
j203.jpg
A lovely lady from San Francisco, emailed me about the necklace Sour Girl, and asked if I would make it a lot longer for her. So this necklace was her idea, and if you're average height, the longest strand will fall to about your belly button. Yay, she just emailed me..."That's me!!  It's my favorite necklace.  I get so many compliments on it."

Fascination Street

Oh it's opening time
Down on Fascination Street
So let's cut the conversation and get out for a bit
Because I feel it all fading and paling
And I'm begging to drag you down with me

Rapture
j205.jpg
I tried to take a picture of this one with the glasses through the hole, but none of the pictures worked.  They were always over or under developed.  So I decided that since you already have an example to look at, you can use your imagination on this one.

Champagne Wishes

...and caviar dreams.  Just like the lifestyles of the rich and famous

This show was really the beginning of all gossip shows and magazines.  If it wasn't for this show, I really think we wouldn't care about celebrities and what kind of sunglasses they wear, or how much they paid for their khakis.
