Purple Rain

purplerain.jpg

I like these earrings.  I'm not usually a huge fan of amethyst, but there's something about these earrings that makes me giddy as a school girl.

I can't put my finger on it.  I guess it doesn't really matter though, as long as you like them.  Cuz it's all about you.  Not that it's going to ruin my day if you don't like them, but if you do, and you buy them, then that makes my day.

Porcelain

porcelain.jpg

Ever notice a lot of the names I choose are song titles?  I think it's because sometimes I lack the creativity to come up with something crazy original.
But you know what?  I'm not going to apologise.  I make the stuff, that and sarcasm are my only creative outlets, so you'll forgive me if I'm not interested in sitting around all day thinking up new and exciting names.  Dammit, I just apologised.

Music Into Gold

musicintogold.jpg

"Lampworkers melt narrow rods of glass with the flame of a torch. The molten glass is wound around a mandrel, a thin length of stainless steel. Turning the mandrel and holding it in different positions allows gravity to help the bead take form, but tools are also used to push and pull it into shape."

Wedding Cake

weddingcake.jpg

Okay, another non creative moment.  These are called Wedding Cake Lampwork beads...but with a name so cute, who was I to change it?

Just who do you think I am?

Twilight Zone

twilightzone.jpg

Remember that episode of the Twilight Zone where the girl just had to go to the mall to buy a gift for her boss, and it was almost closing time.  Slowly she starts to turn into a mannequin and at the end of the episode you see a boy and his mother (who were mannequin's at the beginning of the episode) leaving the mall, ready for a new life.  Remember?

Sticks and Stones

...may break my bones, but these earrings will never hurt me.

What hurts you?  It's okay, let it out.

That's right...let go.  Doesn't that feel better?

Spotty Face

spottyface.jpg

Listen to the Monks lately?  They had more songs that just "Drugs in my Pocket"

You know, I keep asking you about songs, and I really don't think you know what I'm talking about....I think you would benefit from broadening your music horizons.

This isn't an insult, just an observation.

Sparkle and Shine

"Fire-polish glass beads are made in the Czech Republic. These glass beads are pressed in a mold, then machine faceted and polished.  The fire-polishing technique produces a scratch-resistant bead with slightly rounded facets."

See, only here can you shop and learn.

Red, Gold and Green

Ok, so there's no red and gold...but there's a lot of green and...

Now we're best friends.

Hazy Shade of Winter

hazyshadeofwinter.jpg

These beads are very cool.  The colour is almost irridescent and they look like they've been twisted.

Did you know that the song "Hazy Shade of Winter" was originally recorded by "Simon and Garfunkle"?

I know, I thought it was a "Bangles" original too.

Drop Me a Line

dropmealine.jpg

Drop me a line...hmm, now do I mean email me, page me, mail me a letter, instant message me, call me at home, call me on my cell, call me at work, text message me, or just try to find me by using the tracking device implanted in my ass?

I miss the days when phones didn't have call waiting and if you got a busy signal, it just meant that person was busy, it didn't mean call their cell, email them, page them, then text message them.  Ah, the simplicity of a hand written letter and a rotary phone.

Tic Tac Toe

tictactoe.jpg

Nope, these aren't two different coloured square beads.  Just one.  Just one type of bead, not just one bead.  Only this side of the bead has colour, and depending on how light hits it, it'll be green or blue...just like the picture.  The rest of the bead is black.  Except the middle one, that one's all black.

Ever get the feeling that I like pointing out the obvious?  It's true, I do.  Call it a gift...sometimes a curse.

Polly's Gone

pollysgone.jpg

Ok, I think this is a polygon-ish shape.  I think that's what I remember from grade 10 math class, but what do I know? If I was a mathematician I wouldn't need to sell jewelry over the internet.

I'm no Good Will Hunting.

Pearl Harbour

What outfit wouldn't benefit by the timelessness of pearls and crystal?  None.

What person wouldn't benefit from watching the movie with Ben Affleck?

Again, sadly the answer is none.

Lips Like Sugar

lipslikesugar.jpg

She floats like a swan
Grace on the water
Lips like sugar
Lips like sugar
Just when you think you've caught her
She glides across the water
She calls for you tonight
To share this moonlight

You'll flow down her river
She'll ask & you'll give her...
Lips like sugar
Sugar kisses
Lips like sugar
Sugar kisses

She knows what you know
I know what she's thinking
Sugar kisses, sugar kisses
Just when you think she's yours
She's flown to other shores
To laugh at how you break
And melt into this lake

Don't Fence Me In

dontfencemein.jpg

Ok, the name comes from an old Cole Porter song that was covered by David Byrne, and I was listening to it when I uploaded this picture, so there's no long story behind it.

But the beads are very cool, they're almost see through brown with speckles of paint on them, they were actually hand painted, not by my hand but they're very nouveau chic.

Dali

dali.jpg

I named these after my dog, she was named after Salvador Dali, because he's my favourite artist.

She is a spectacular looking dog, and a bit spastic and eccentric, just like her mom.

He was a fabulous artist, and a bit spastic and eccentric, just like my dog.

See how we've come full circle?

Cubic What?

cubicwhat.jpg

Ok, so it's not cubic zirconia, but really what is?  Especially since they have the new fake diamond crap called Diamonelle.  I called the home shopping network once when they were pimping diamonelle, and I asked them what it is and you know what they told me?

It's high quality cubic zirconia.

What?

And fyi smarty pants, I named them that not just so I could tell that story, but because they're cubed beads.  So there.
